Lili Taylor
Taylor was most recently seen in her Emmy nominated role of Lisa on HBO's award-winning Six Feet Under (also nominated for a SAG Award as a member of the ensemble cast), in HBO's Golden Globe nominated tele-film Live From Baghdad, opposite Michael Keaton and Helena Bonham Carter, and John Sayles' ensemble feature CASA DE LOS BABYS, co-starring with Maggie Gyllenhaal, Marcia Gay Harden and Mary Steenburgen.
Taylor was the recipient of the first-ever Special Grand Jury Prize for Acting at the 1995 Sundance Film Festival. This award recognized her work in GIRLS TOWN (for which she also earned an Independent Spirit Award nomination), COLD FEVER, and Mary Harron's I SHOT ANDY WARHOL, in which she gave an explosive performance as Valerie Solanas. Lili also won the Independent Spirit Award for Best Supporting Actress for her work in HOUSEHOLD SAINTS, and received nominations for her performances in Abel Ferrara's THE ADDICTION, and Michael Fields' BRIGHT ANGEL. She was part of the ensemble cast that won a Golden Globe Award and a Vopli Cup at the Venice Film Festival for Robert Altman's SHORT CUTS.
Additional film credits include Donald Petrie's MYSTIC PIZZA opposite Julia Roberts and Cameron Crowe's SAY ANYTHING, with John Cusak, Nancy Savoca's DOGFIGHT opposite River Phoenix, Emir Kustarica's ARIZONA DREAM opposite Johnny Depp, Alan Rudolph's MRS. PARKER AND THE VICIOUS CIRCLE, Ron Howard's RANSOM (for which Lili won the Blockbuster Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Suspense Film), Isabelle Coixette's THINGS I NEVER TOLD YOU, John Waters' PECKER, Jan de Bont's THE HAUNTING, Stephen Frears' HIGH FIDELITY, and Stanley Tucci's THE IMPOSTORS, and Abel Ferrara's THE ADDICTION.
On television, Taylor appeared in ABC's 2001 Emmy-winning and Golden Globe-nominated adaptation of The Diary of Anne Frank with Ben Kingsley and Brenda Blethyn. In 1998, Lili received an Emmy nomination for her guest-starring role on Fox's The X-Files, in an episode entitled Mind's Eye.
Lili Taylor made her Broadway debut in Chekov's Three Sisters, opposite Amy Irving, Calista Flockhart, and Billy Crudup. She was a member of the Naked Angels theatre group before forming her own theatre company, Machine Full, where she made her directorial debut with Halcion Days. She earned rave reviews and a Drama Desk nomination for her incendiary performance Off-Broadway in The Dead Eye Boy. Other theatrical appearances include a starring role in Aven'u Boys at the American Place Theatre, Richard Foreman's What Did He See at the Public Theater, Increase at La Mama and MUD in her hometown of Chicago. This past summer, Taylor received rave reviews for her performance at the Williamstown Theatre Festival in a revival of John Guare's Landscape of The Body.
Just recently, Taylor returned to the New York stage opposite Kristen Johnston in The New Group's critically acclaimed revival of Wallace Shawn's OBIE Award winning play, Aunt Dan & Lemon, directed by Scott Elliott. Lili will next be seen on the big screen re-teaming with Mary Harron for THE BALLAD OF BETTIE PAGE, produced by Killer Films for HBO Pictures.
