Xavier Gens (Director) cut his directorial teeth as a production runner and trainee AD on the sets of a variety of big budget features including Ronin, Maximum Risk, Double Team and Le Bossu. In his free time, he made short films and even a feature of sorts shot on VHS with the help of his equally enthusiastic if impoverished friends.

Some of these early efforts (notably the 35mm shorts Born to Kast, and Au Petit Matin which appeared in the official selection at Venice and won the Grand Prize at the Cognac Film Festival) were good enough to serve as calling cards for work as a video director. Gens proceeded to make some 40 music videos and commercials before being hired to direct an episode of the French television mini- series Sable Noir (Black Sand). This in turn persuaded the producers at EuropaCorp and potential financiers that he was ready to embark on his first feature as writer and director, the very stylish and assured horror thriller/gorefest, Frontier(s). HITMAN is Gens' second feature film.
